  1. The destination.
    1. Jesus spoke of heaven as His Father’s house.
      1. It is where the everywhere-present God reveals Himself in a very special way.
      2. To live in our Father’s house is to be His covenant child, knowing His love, care, protection, and safety.
    2. It is the place of greatest blessing for a creature; a place of greatest comfort and joy.
  2. Jesus is the Way to the Father and His house.
    1. A “way” is a traveled path or a road.
    2. Jesus identifies Himself as the way which leads to the Father and to heaven.
      1. He does not point out the way (as a guide), but He is the Way.
      2. We need the way because the Father’s house is shut to all those who fell in Adam.
      3. God provided the way for us to come to Him and into His covenant house and fellowship.
      4. Jesus is THE (not “a”) Way to the Father (Acts 4:12).
  3. Why is Jesus the way?
    1. Because He along is God, the “I am.”
    2. Jesus is the Way, because He is the Truth.
    3. Jesus is the Way because He is the Life.
  4. The experience this this truth if found in our walking the way.
    1. To walk this way is to acknowledge that Jesus is the only way to heaven.
    2. It is the walk of faith, knowing Jesus to be all that He says He is, and trusting Him to be the way, the truth, and the life.
    3. The disciples believed in Jesus, but their faith was weak.
