- The meaning.
- God ?spared not His own Son.?
- God did not withhold His Son.
- This evidences the greatness of God?s (love and grace) for those called according to His purpose.
- God ?delivered Him up.?
- This language describes the willing activity of God Himself which brought Jesus to the cross.
- Jesus was given in order to bear the full penalty pronounced on sin.
- ?For us all.?
- Two conclusions drawn.
- ?If God be for us, who can be against us?? He Who did not spare but delivered is for us.
- This ?God? is the One of every perfection, Who sovereignly purposed and rules over all.
- With God for us, nothing can be against us.
- But all that which is against us is nothing before Him Who is on our side: our God is for us!
- ?How shall He not with Him also freely give us all things??
- Paul reasons from the greater (God?s own Son) to the lesser (all things).
- All things are given to us with Christ.
- We are triumphant - more than conquerors.
